The shorts are in São Brás de Alportel, on the shortest weekend of the year

There are sessions this Saturday and Sunday

São Brás de Alportel is part of the national calendar of the Film Cycle “O Dia Mais Curto – Short Film Film Cycle” whose screenings for children and adults will take place at Cineteatro São Brás, this weekend.

The first session is scheduled for this Saturday, the 18th, at 15 pm, with the “Amiguinhos” program, for children over 00 years old, and promises a lot of entertainment along with education through image.

The 19:00 session, for over 12s, is dedicated to “Curtas do Mundo”, proposing a journey through some of the works shown in the most recent edition of the Curtas Vila do Conde festival.

On Sunday, the 19th, the children's sessions return at 15:00, this time with the program “Curtinhas para Todos”. At 19 pm, it's time to get to know the “Novas Curtas Portuguesas”, a session for people over 00 years old.

Tickets are on sale at the Municipal Gallery of São Brás de Alportel and, on the same day, at the Cineteatro ticket office, before the start of the sessions.

Tickets are on sale for 5,00 euros, and are also available for 2,50 euros for holders of the Municipal Youth Card and for 3,75 euros for holders of the Municipal Senior Card.

This cycle is inspired by the arrival of winter in the northern hemisphere, between December 21st and 22nd. With this astronomical phenomenon, the shortest day of the year will take place, which inspired the creation of the party that celebrates cinema in short format around the world: The Shortest Day.

In 2021, this cinema cycle, promoted by the Agência da Curta Metragem, completes its 9th edition, with four distinct programs shown throughout the country, with Portuguese and international films.

The initiative reaches São Brás de Alportel in a partnership between the Municipality and Cinemalua – Cultural Association, entities that are also organizing the weekly Cinema Cycle “Sessões dewinter”.
