Rio won direct from the PSD in the Algarve… and across the country

Rui Rio will continue as president of the PSD

Rui Rio, national winner of the PSD direct, was, also in the Algarve, the most voted candidate, collecting 53,6% of the votes in the disputed elections this Saturday, 27 November. Paulo Rangel had 46,4%.

According to the data, consulted by the Sul Informação, voted, in the district of Faro, 966 social-democrat activists (there were 1327 subscribers).

Rui Rio got 511 votes, against Rangel's 443.

The president of the PSD, who ran for the position and won again, won in 11 of the 16 municipalities.

The biggest victory took place in Castro Marim, land of Francisco Amaral, the regional representative of the candidacy.

In that county, Rio collected 94,4% of the votes.

Another curiosity is the fact that, in Portimão, where the municipality's president was a Rangel supporter, he defeated Rui Rio. Faro, district capital, Rogério Bacalhau, president of the Chamber, was a supporter of Rio, but it was Rangel who had the most votes (58,6%), against 41,4% of Rio.

Here, too, the fact that Cristóvão Norte, president of Paulo Rangel and president of the PSD/Algarve, was born in Faro and leader of the Municipal Assembly.

In Loulé, one of the largest PSD councils in the Algarve, Rio's victory was overwhelming: 69,5%. Rangel collected 30,5% of the votes.

At national level, despite the results not being closed yet (36 sections remain), Rangel has already taken the defeat. Rui Rio leads with 52,62% of the votes.
