Wounded fox was rescued from an inaccessible place in Santa Bárbara de Nexe

Fox was delivered to the Wild Animal Recovery Center (RIAS)

A fox, who was injured and trapped in a limb, was rescued this Thursday, November 11, from an area of ​​difficult access, in Santa Bárbara de Nexe, municipality of Faro. 

The alert was given by a popular person who contacted the GNR Environmental Protection Nucleus of Faro.

Upon arriving at the site, the military and the citizen saw that "the fox was in a stream that was difficult to access due to the strong vegetation in the area".

As a result of the action, the reinforcement of a team from the Emergency Protection and Relief Unit (UEPS) was requested, which carried out the cut of the vegetation, thus enabling the animal to be rescued.

The fox was delivered to the Wild Animal Recovery Center (RIAS), in Olhão.

A notice was also prepared for the practice of hunting with recourse to unauthorized hunting means (traps) and the facts were sent to the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) of Faro.
