Project “#StandOut” arises to promote the potential of young people from Faro in social exclusion

The initiative's priority is to "combat the difficulty that these young people have in entering the labor market and in having consistent professional experiences"

#StandOut – Project for the Promotion of Young Potential appears in Faro to “intervene in the employability and professional integration of young people aged between 16 and 30 who are in a situation (or at risk) of social exclusion”.

This is a project whose main priority is «combating the difficulty these young people have in entering the labor market and in having consistent, regular and lasting professional experiences», begins by saying #StandOut.

For this, three phases of project intervention are defined, called “#Reach_Out”, “#(Em)Power_Up” and “#Go_n_Keep_Up”.

In the first phase, called "#Reach_Out", an initial contact will be made between the young person and the project, encompassing "a screening of needs and expectations and an assessment of their singularities, with a view to the joint construction of an employability project and a personalized intervention plan with strategies and actions suited to your profile».

In “#(Em)Power_Up”, the second phase of the project, after defining the intervention plan, “will involve the training and empowerment of young people with the main objective of acquiring the necessary skills and confidence in the context of employability”.

The third and final phase, “#Go_n_Keep_Up”, considering the young person capable and with the necessary strategies for the challenges of employability, “will involve the facilitation of a matching between the young person and the entity”.

This phase will help “their insertion into the labor market, considering the different modalities such as employment, internships or other support and incentives for employment, and facilitating mentoring on a continuous basis until a process considered sustainable in the context of the labor market is established”.

The #StandOut project and technical team is made up of professionals in the field of Psychology and Social Work and are available to the young community at the Neighborhood Office, located at Rua José Rosário Silva, in Faro.

The appointments require prior appointment, with consultations being held every Tuesday and Wednesday, from 15:00 pm to 19:00 pm.

#StandOut is a project included in the Program +COESO Emprego – Social Entrepreneurship (GAL), promoted by Sê Mais Sê Melhor- Association for the Promotion of Human Potential and co-financed by CRESC Algarve 2020, Portugal 2020 and European Union – European Social Fund.
