Portugal beat Cyprus with hat-trick from the Algarve Gonçalo Ramos

A landslide victory, with a hat-trick from an Algarvian. The under-21 national team won 6-0 against Cyprus, with three goals from Gonçalo Ramos, in a qualifying game for the 2023 European Championship, played this Tuesday, 16 November, at Estádio São Luís, in Faro. 

With around 3 thousand fans in the stands, Portugal practically started to win.

Gonçalo Ramos, a native of Olhão, scored the first in the 6th minute, with a shot from the angle.

The advantage increased at 21′, with a goal by Gonçalo Inácio. The Sporting player gave the best follow-up to a corner, heading into the back of the net.

O cupboard it only started to move again in the 49th minute, in one of the high moments of the night. Fábio Vieira, in a free-kick a good 30 meters from the opponents goal, scored a great goal that raised the fans from the stands.

The FC Porto player was one of the best on the field and, at 52′, assisted Gonçalo Ramos for Portugal's fourth goal in the match.

The Algarve footballer did not stop here. Minutes later, at 59′, he made the hat-trick, and made it 5-0.

Henrique Araújo (70′), who scored his debut for the under-21, sealed the final result: 6-0.

Thus, Portugal achieved their fifth victory – in five games – in qualifying for the European Championship, leading group D in isolation.
