Book and exhibition “La Eurociudad del Guadiana” presented at the Castro Marim Market

Book launch took place last Friday, November 12th

The book “La Eurociudad de Guadiana: Profile and identity on the Iberian frontier: Ayamonte, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António” was presented last Friday, November 12th, at Mercado Local, in Castro Marim, if accompanied by a complementary exhibition.

From Ayamonte, Vila Real de Santo António and Castro Marim, three cities in two countries, the Eurocity of the Guadiana was developed, «which seeks a unified territorial identity, based on sustainable development». It is this narrative, «from this territory full of potential and its future under construction, that this book brings us», says the municipality of Castromarinense.

«We have to look at these three communities and think that together we will be stronger and that we are no longer peripheral, in Andalusia and the Algarve, and we have started to be the centrality of the Euroregion», reinforces Filomena Feel, deputy mayor of Castro Marim , highlighting future development opportunities arising from 2030 community frameworks.

The book was presented with a complementary exhibition, comprising 20 panels, which will be on display until the end of November. The exhibition can be visited every day, between 9:00 and 13:00 and 14:30 and 17:30.

The book's launch ceremony was attended by the author, Juan António Márquez Domínguez, the deputy mayor of Castro Marim, Filomena Sintra, and the representative of the Eurocity of Guadiana, Francisco Muñoz.

This book was supported by the council of La Presidencia, Administracion Pública e Interior, Junta de Andalucia, Grupo de Investigación of the Instituto de Desarrollo Local of the Universidad de Huelva and Eurocidade del Guadiana.
