Lagos celebrates Christmas with an ice rink, inflatable and shows at the Cultural Center

Ice rink, a Father Christmas House and shows at the Cultural Center. The "Magic of Christmas" returns to Lagos for a program that will last from December 1st to January 6th.

In the “Lagos 2021 Christmas Festivities”, all the attention will be turned to Praça do Infante on December 4th, a place that will function as one of the centers of the animations.

From 15:00 on that day, the long-awaited arrival of Father Christmas will take place, officially starting the entertainment present at the site: Ice Rink, Sleigh Rink, Christmas Village Inflatable and Father Christmas House.

These spaces will be open from December 4th to December 24th, at the following times: Monday to Friday, 10 am to 00 pm and 13 pm to 00 pm, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (15 am to 00 pm) and December 19th (00 am to 10 pm).

Cultural associations and the school community also wanted to join the festivities and be part of the entertainment.

On the 4th, “Os Piratas” from the Experimental Theater of Lagos will make many “pranks” when Santa Claus arrives. The band from Sociedade Filarmónica Lacobrigense 1º de Maio will give lots of music on December 11th and 18th (11:00 am) in Santo Amaro Market, accompanied by Circulating Animation throughout the day in that market and in the city's historic centre.

Students from Colégio Bambino also wanted to be part of the Christmas experience, presenting their talent to the community through Christmas songs sung in Praça Gil Eanes on November 27th and December 11th (11:00 am).

The Duval Pestana Auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Lagos will stage Christmas shows covering arts such as dance, music and theatre: “It's the magic of Christmas”, by the Orquestra Ligeira de Lagos (4th December, 18:00), “ Where do mirrors go when they die”, by Teatro Experimental de Lagos (10th and 11th December, 18:00h and 19:30h), “The Christmas Gift”, by the Lagos Dance Association (16th to 18th December, 19:30h) and “ Christmas Concert”, by the band of the Sociedade Filarmónica Lacobrigense 1º de Maio.

The Natalândia do ZooLagos returns for a new edition, between the 4th and the 26th of December, proposing a day well spent experiencing the magic of Christmas among the various species of animals residing there.

The “Christmas Festivities in Lagos 2021” program also includes the exhibition of the Christmas Crib by José Cortes, on display in Room 0 of the Centro Cultural de Lagos (2 December to 6 January, Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00-18:00 ) and the initiative “Christmas in Local Commerce” (1st December to 5th January), in which local commerce customers in Lacobrigense will be able to win 100 euros vouchers and where they will have the opportunity to support Lacobrigensian commercial establishments.

So that you can make the best use of the various Christmas activities, from December 1st to January 6th, parking will be free in the ZED – Limited Duration Parking Areas, while at Parque da Frente Ribeirinha it will be free of charge for a period of 2 hours for users who present receipts for purchases of more than 10 euros, made on the same day, at local stores.
