Side B brings Luísa Sobral to Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório de Silves

on December 3rd

Luísa Sobral will take the stage at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório, in Silves, in a duo with guitarist Manuel Rocha, to star in "an intimate concert around her ten-year career, spanning her five albums and some unpublished themes", on the day December 3, at 21 pm.

The Portuguese artist is the guest of yet another session of the Lado B initiative, in which the Câmara de Silves, which organizes the event, «seeks to present to the public a more relaxed and intimate version of the artists».

As a rule, the concert "is associated with a brief conversation as a way of bringing the audience closer to the artist".

Tickets for the concert by Luísa Sobral, «one of the most important composers and singers of the new generation of Portuguese musicians», cost 8 euros and can be purchased in advance online, as well as at FNAC, Worten, CTT, EI Corte Inglês and Youth Hostels.

On the day of the show, tickets can be purchased at the show venue, from 20:00, if ticket office is available.

Luísa Sobral debuted in 2011 with the album “The Cherry on My Cake”, which was followed by “There's A Flower In My Bedroom” (2013) – with guests like Jamie Cullum, António Zambujo and Mário Laginha – the children's album “ Lu-Pu-I-Pi-Sa-Pa" (2014) and "Luísa" (2016).

In 2017, he composed “Amar Pelos Dois”, the winning song at the Eurovision Song Contest, performed by his brother Salvador Sobral.

In 2018, “Rosa” arrives, an album produced by the Catalan artist Raul Refree, based on a more intimate record, where Luísa Sobral ventures into new territories in composition and arrangements. The album draws the best reviews from the specialized press and takes the singer through landscapes where she had never performed before: Italy, Poland, Uruguay, Australia and Japan, joined by Spain and Portugal, renowned festivals and venues – Bons Sons, Sol da Caparica, La Mar de Músicas, WOMADelaide, among others – receive the tour of what was considered their most mature work.

The return to record editions takes place with “Camomila” (2021), a mini-album composed of lullabies dedicated to each day of the week.

Her facet as a composer has stood out over the years, having composed for artists such as Ana Moura, António Zambujo, Marco Rodrigues, Mayra Andrade, Sara Correia, among others.
