Faro: Two men arrested in the act by the GNR for illegal hunting

Operation of the Environmental Protection Nucleus (NPA) of the GNR of Faro took place this thursday, 4th of November

Two men, aged 25 and 49, were arrested in flagrante delicto, in the municipality of Faro, this Thursday, November 4th, for illegal hunting, in an operation of the GNR Environmental Protection Center (NPA).

Following a complaint, members of the NPA carried out a police intervention that allowed "the detection and arrest of individuals in flagrante delicto for crimes of non-preservation of wildlife and game species" and for "use of prohibited hunting methods".

During the action, two bird cages, scissors, a hammer, a coil of rope, four pegs and nets were seized.

During the action, three birds were also rescued, namely a lugre (carduelis spinus), a goldfinch (carduelis carduelis) and a hybrid goldfinch bird, which were delivered to the Wildlife Recovery and Research Center (RIAS), in Olhão.

The detainees will be present at the Court of Faro, during today, for the application of coercive measures.
