Eurocity of Guadiana returns athletics competition but in virtual mode

Proof will take place between 25th and 28th of November through an application

The Eurocity of Guadiana will once again organize the road athletics event “X Millas del Guadiana”, between the 25th and 28th of November, virtually through the use of an application, due to the pandemic that made it difficult to carry out in person.

With this virtual race, «an international road athletics competition took place again, which was suspended for some years due to the maintenance of the International Bridge over the Guadiana river, the link between the two countries and through which the route passed», emphasizes the organization .

This year it will be carried out through an application, in which participants will be able to do "preparation training and record their own competition".

This 10th edition of “Millas del Guadiana” will be carried out in an adapted form that, “thanks to technology, will allow sharing experiences with around a thousand people from different places. Each participant will choose the day, time, place and route that suits their needs. Before or after the race, no results can be registered in the competition mode of the application».

The race, with free registration, can only be done in Spanish or Portuguese territory, with a distance of ten miles, that is, 16 090 meters.

Entries can be made on the App until the 24th of November, at 14 pm, the race being limited to a maximum of one thousand participants who will be accepted in the order of enrollment. The dorsals can be downloaded in the application, in the download section.

This is a non-competitive event, but there will be a classification by categories: male and female. The results will be published on the official website, in the days following the competition. There will be no prizes for classification, but once the recording of the competition is finished, each participant will be able to download a certificate with the elapsed time.

The categories are individual: seniors – 19/20-34 years old; veterans I – 35-39 years; veterans II – 40-44 years; veterans III – 45-49 years; veterans IV – 50-54 years; veterans V – 55-59 years; veterans VI – ≥ 60 years. The classifications will be of two types: General Individual Classification, male and female and Individual Classification by categories.
