Children's emotions in focus at the Ateliê Grandes e Pequenos at the Portimão Library

The book “Clouds in the Head”, by Susana Amorim, will be at the center of the conversation

The children's emotions and the book “Nuvens na Cabeça”, by Susana Amorim, will be in focus at this month's “Ateliê Grandes e Pequenos – Families”, which will take place on November 27, at 16 pm, at the Manuel Teixeira Municipal Library Gomes, in Portimão.

The library invited the psychologist Susana Proença to talk about this book, "in which the author Susana Amorim addresses emotions from the children's point of view."

“The writer is a psychologist and shares her day-to-day life with children and young people in a therapeutic and school context, drawing from her experience as a psychotherapist the inspiration for her first books, which are intended to be support tools for parents, technicians and teachers, facilitating the approach of various themes under a playful and creative perspective, in order to promote emotional health», explains the City Council of Portimão.

In “Nuvens na Cabeça”, published by Editora Cercica, «Susana Amorim tells the story of a girl, Eva, who discovered how to dispel the gray and heavy clouds that insisted on accompanying her everywhere». The book features illustrations by Alexandra Agostinho da Silva.

“With clues and activities at the end, the book is a useful tool for working with children on the feelings of daily life, as Susana Proença, educational psychologist since 1996, will underline,” added the municipality.

The guest at the November meeting «played functions in the Psychology and Guidance Service in primary and secondary schools in the Municipality of Portimão, and is currently head of the Socio-Educational Intervention Unit in the local council».

The workshops for adults and children, promoted by the Municipal Library of Portimão on the last Saturday of each month, have the presence of a guest expert on the proposed topic, predominantly problematic, who will address it using an appropriate work, in order to raise awareness of the target audience for issues that affect the community.
