Boa Esperança caravel has already started to be recovered

The Boa Esperança Caravel, which is usually anchored next to the Marina de Lagos, has already started to be recovered at the Portinave shipyards, in Parchal (Lagoa).

The works foresee interventions in wood and painting.

The aim, in the future, is for the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) to transform the Boa Esperança Caravel into an Interpretative Center for the Discoveries.

"What is expected is that by the end of February the caravel will be recovered, as at this stage there is a large maintenance list," said João Fernandes, president of the RTA, to the Windward newspaper.
