Câmara de Lagos spent 894 thousand euros on actions against Covid-19 in the last eight months

The municipality highlights expenditure on social support, including food, hygiene, economic support, support for private leases, among others.

In the last eight months, between January and August, the Câmara de Lagos spent the total amount of 894 thousand euros in actions promoted in the scope of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, it announced the autarchy this Monday, November 8th.

The municipality highlights “the expenses with social support, namely food, hygiene, economic support, support for private leasing, among others, which, together, represented a financial volume of more than 529 thousand euros”.

According to the municipality's report, "a monthly average of 514 food baskets was allocated" and homeless people "also continued to be supported, with a monthly average of 643 meals being prepared and served".

In the context of a pandemic crisis, "it was also necessary to deliver 114 baskets of foodstuffs to people in a situation of prophylactic isolation, essential support provided in conjunction with health entities and municipal civil protection."

The 31 school meals served in the context of the “LAGOS APOIA” program represented a cost of 481 thousand euros for the municipality.

With regard to housing, 355 support was granted under the Municipal Regulation of Support for Private Lease, of which 72 resulted from the approval of new requests submitted in the reference period.

The fight against the pandemic also forced the acquisition of goods and services, which totaled the value of 364 euros.

Most of this money "was applied to cleaning and disinfection actions, with the facilities and equipping of the Lagos Vaccination Center for Covid-19, which was in operation until the end of September, security services and personal protection equipment" , concludes the municipality.
