AHP brings experts to talk about human resources and the Algarve at the hotel and tourism congress

Organization revealed the guest speakers of two

Specialists from the region, but also from other parts of the country, will speak about human resources and tourism in the Algarve, at the 32nd National Congress of Hotels and Tourism, which the Portuguese Hotel Association (AHP) will promote in Albufeira among the the 10th and 12th of November.

The event's organization revealed the speakers of the panels “Human Capital” and “Algarve”, which take place, respectively, on the 11th and 12th.

Where and how to recruit? What adaptations do companies have to make to capture and retain post-pandemic workers? How to ensure profitability in the face of rising labor costs?

These are some of the questions that the panel “Human Capital – The challenge of the decade!”, which is one of the 3 parallel afternoon sessions of the 1st day of work of the event.

To try to shed light on the topic, they were invited to participate in the roundtable, moderated by businesswoman Sofia Vilhena, Marta Sotto-Mayor, a trainer and consultant in hospitality who recently won the “Hospitality Education Awards” in the category of best Teaching Career in the Professional Education, Rita Almada, from Sonae MC and Luís Mexia Alves, executive director of DHM – Discovery Hotel Management.

On the 12th, the focus will be on the Algarve, the region where the event takes place and the main national tourist region.

«A unique territory, of unique beauty and diversity, the Algarve deserves further reflection at a time when it is necessary to rebuild tourism and restart business. It is, therefore, mandatory to learn from the mistakes of the past, identify the threats and define a clear strategy that meets a sustainable and quality tourism», states AHP.

For this panel, João Fernandes, president of the Algarve Regional Tourism Board, Mário Azevedo Ferreira, executive director of NAU Hotels & Resorts and Marta Cabral, CEO of Rota Vicentina, were invited.

«It will be directed by two passionate about the region, Rodrigo Machaz, general director of Memmo Hotels, and João Soares, general director of Dom José Beach Hotel.

Eduardo Abreu, partner at Neoturis, a consulting, strategic and business company focused on the Tourism sector, will be the keynote speaker.
