The company Vol'e Temps will present the new circus show “DistanS” at the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão, on October 9th, next Saturday, at 16 pm, and promote two workshops, where it will be possible to learn circus arts and interact with artists.

This is, according to the Municipality of Olhão, “a spectacle that speaks of friendship, of the memories that remain alive in our hearts despite the years. It speaks of the fragility of the human being, of rupture, loneliness and love, capable of regenerating and rebuilding our relationships with others».

The public will be able to watch «a journey through emotions in a visual and sound space that involves the acrobatic circus, the gestural theater, an organic, sensitive and fun show».

«With this show, the Vol'e Temps Company immerses itself in the emotions that the risk of circus disciplines and theatrical performance are capable of generating. Acrobatic poses, dynamic acrobatics, tightrope, musical juggling, live music, fixed bar, gesture theater, are the tools that, supported by dramaturgy, make up a close and exciting story capable of moving all audiences and transmitting values necessary for a society current,” he adds.

Entries are free, and tickets (limited to two per person) can be collected at the ticket office of the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão during its opening hours.

The same arts that the elements of Vol'e Temps will show on stage are the inspiration for the workshop “Introduction to the various circus disciplines”, which takes place on the 9th, in the outdoor garden of AMO, between 10:00 and 12:00 and is intended for children from the age of three.

Here, the disciplines of juggling, acrobatics, acrobatic roll, balance ball, roll ball and tightrope or slackline will be addressed.

The day before, October 8, from 18:00 pm to 19:00 pm, also at AMO, the workshop “Nos Backstories” will take place, aimed at the general public. This initiative consists of a behind-the-scenes visit to a show that includes interaction with the artists.

Both workshops require limited prior registration, which must be made to [email protected] by the 7th of October.

The show and the workshops are part of Central Artes, a networked cultural programming project that has been taking place in the five municipalities of the Central Algarve, including Olhão, since 2020.
