Earthquake was felt in Tavira and Olhão

So far, there is no information on "personal or material damages"

The 3.6 magnitude earthquake (Richter), which had an epicenter about 60 kilometers south of Olhão, was felt this Wednesday, October 6, in the municipalities of Tavira and Olhão, has just informed the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to the IPMA, which updated the data, the shock, registered at 7:08 am, was felt «with maximum intensity III (modified Mercalli scale) in the municipality of Tavira».

In Olhão, the earthquake was felt “with less intensity”.

“This earthquake, according to the information available so far, has not caused personal or material damage”, concludes the IPMA.
