Samuel Portugal and Lucas Possignolo were the heroes of Portimonense's first victory at Estádio da Luz. This Sunday, Samuel defended everything there was to defend and Lucas' head scored the only goal of the game, which made the Algarveans do what they wanted. no other team has managed this season (not even Barcelona): beating Benfica.

The match started at a low pace, with study from both sides and only after 22 minutes there was danger near the goals. Benfica accelerated on the left, Grimaldo crossed and Yaremchuk, first, shot for a save impossible by Samuel Portugal for singing.

At 33 minutes, Portimonense gave an air of grace. The Algarvians recovered the ball in the uphill zone, Aylton received it, climbed meters and shot hard for a showy save by Odysseas for a corner.

If the Benfica goalkeeper's defense was showy, the one Samuel Portugal made, in the 37th minute, in response to Grimaldo's free-kick, was even more so. The ball was headed for the upper corner, but when Luz's stands were getting ready to celebrate, the Brazilian goalkeeper, with a “shoe” avoided the 1-0.

Samuel was inspired, to the dismay of Benfica players and, until the break, denied the goal on two more occasions. At 41, Rafa isolated himself, tried to pick the ball, but it found the hand of the goalkeeper alvinegro, who was already on the ground and, at 45, it was Grimaldo who tried to head the goal, but Samuel "flying" again to avoid the goal.

The reds returned from the locker room with the intention of reaching the goal and, in the 49th minute, celebrated for a few minutes. Is that Yaremchuk introduced the ball in goal, but the VAR canceled the goal for offside.

At 66 minutes, it was Portimonense who celebrated and, this time, it was really worth it. Lucas Fernandes scored a corner from the left and Lucas Possignolo, at the far post, headed for the goal of the Algarve.

If Benfica was already pressing with the game tied, at a disadvantage they pressed even more.

In the 80th minute, Lucas Veríssimo scared, with a header that went inches from the post and, in the 84th minute, in one of Samuel's few flaws throughout the game, after a corner, Otamendi shot into the empty goal, but Fali Candé took it over the line. .

In added time, Otamendi, from outside the area, fired hard, Samuel Portugal did not move, but the ball hit the goal post.

Paulo Sérgio crossed himself and history was done. In the 26th game, Portimonense won for the first time at Estádio da Luz.
