Palácio Gama Lobo, headquarters of Loulé Criativo, hosts an exhibition dedicated to collaborative design until November 2nd.
In this exhibition, «visitors will discover the result of the most recent collaborations, both within the Loulé Criativo community, integrating Loulé Design Lab residents as artisans from the Workshop Network, as well as with important partnerships with universities, companies and local artisans , designers and initiatives promoted by the council», explains the City Council.
Collaborative design «has been an important axis of work in this municipal program, as a means of developing traditional arts».
Educational establishments have been partners in this project since its inception. The University of Algarve and the Secondary School of Loulé, in their curricular internship program, have already given several students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real situations.
This year, the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon launched a challenge to finalist Equipment Design students to form work pairs with artisans from the Workshop Network or with residents of the Loulé Design Lab.
The business fabric also integrates the partners of Loulé Criativo. An example of this is Ombria Resort and Quinta do Freixo, as well as the Casa Velha Restaurant, in Quinta do Lago, which ordered products necessary for their activity in the restaurant area from the residents of Loulé Design Lab, which were developed in close collaboration.
In the area of fashion, in collaboration with a fashion editorial for Revista Cristina held in an orchard of almond blossom, the stylist Filipe Carriço created a series of accessories in collaboration with the artisans of Rede de Oficinas.
The exhibition can be visited at Palácio Gama Lobo, located at Rua Nossa Senhora de Fátima, in Loulé, at the following time: Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 18:00 pm, and on Saturdays, from 9:00 am to 15:00 pm .
