Lagoa municipality joins the “Together for Vision” project

The project will help the people of Lagos in ophthalmology consultations and in the acquisition of prescription glasses for children and young people between 6 and 17 years old.

The “Together for Vision” program, by Essilor and Luxottica, will have the support of the municipality of Lagoa, thus helping the people of Lagos in ophthalmology consultations and in the acquisition of prescription glasses for children and young people between 6 and 17 years old, residing in the municipality. , whose parents are in a proven situation of unemployment.

«As the Algarve region is one of the most affected by the pandemic situation we are experiencing, where the municipality of Lagoa is no exception», the Together for Vision program is «fundamental in supporting families, at a time when we are trying to return to normality and recover our economy”, says the municipality of Lagoa.

The “Together For Vision” project runs until November 30 and aims to “ensure children and young people access to good visual health, on which their academic success and quality of life depend”.

And it is with a sense of responsibility that the municipality of Lagoa, once again, associates itself with programs to support our families, stresses Luís Encarnação, Mayor of Lagoa.

Those interested in joining the program should contact one of the ophthalmologists who have joined the initiative, whose list is available on the website, to assess any visual impairment, and, if this is identified and there is a prescription, they only have to go to one of the partner opticians, where, with documents proving unemployment and respective identification documents, they can order the glasses.
