The book “Desenhar do Escuro”, by António Jorge Gonçalves, will be presented this Wednesday, 27th October, at 18 pm, at Palácio Gama Lobo, in Loulé, followed by a lecture and a drawing workshop.
The work constitutes "a narrative without words" built from "drawings in white pencil on black cardboard notebooks, made between 2020 and 2021" such as "urban landscapes, domestic cloisters, wandering through nature, there is a little of everything in the records that the artist took notes over the months», explains the Loulé municipality.
The lecture, which will be part of the session, will be carried out with images, challenging «perspectives on the role of light in the history of visual arts, in drawing, painting, photography, cinema» and will also address «the particular motivations and techniques used in the making of drawings from the book".
A workshop is also planned for making drawings in white on a black support.
The session will be free but limited to seats in the room, with the use of masks being mandatory throughout the entire initiative.
