Scouts gather in Portimão for the “Jota Joti” activity

Activity took place this Saturday, October 16th

The Jota Joti 2021 activity brought together around 250 scouts in Portimão, during the day of this Saturday, October 16, in an organization of the Southern Regional Head of the Portuguese Scouts Association (AEP).  

Across the city, young people participating in Jota Joti had to carry out various communication activities with message transmission using codes such as phonetic, morse, cryptography or homograph.

The game that took place between 22 teams of scouts had as the winner the representative of Grupo 234 de Beja.

Scouts from the Groups participated in the activity: 6 from Olhão, 28 from Moura, 60 from Vila Real de Santo António, 77 from Faro, 166 from Montenegro, 197 from Quelfes, 234 from Beja and 238 from Lagoa.

«The commitment to communication games and the moments of joy, fun and conviviality marked this day, which was also experienced by scouts from all over the world!», emphasizes the AEP's Southern Regional Head.

The initiative was supported by the Portimão School of Hospitality and Tourism, where communication activities were carried out via radio and internet with scouts from all over the world.
