ASAE installs 35 cases for operators of sports facilities

Action took place "from north to south of the country" in gyms, fitness centers, gyms and health clubs

The Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE) filed 35 administrative infraction proceedings resulting from an inspection of 128 operators of sports facilities relating to non-compliance with rules in the fight against Covid-19.

In a statement sent today, the ASAE says that the action took place "from north to south of the country" in gyms, fitness centers, gyms and health clubs, and took into account “technical and safety requirements, in accordance with the rules of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) in the scope of the Covid-19 disease and also the verification of compliance with the rules for the marketing of food supplements”.

In the 35 administrative infraction proceedings filed, explains the ASAE, «the main infractions are the lack of licensing, the exercise of the activity of responsible technician without a valid professional title, the lack of mandatory insurance, as well as the non-compliance with the rules of the DGS in the scope of Covid-19 disease'.

ASAE, as a criminal police agency and market inspection authority, carries out, on a daily basis, operations to verify compliance with current regulations.

"In the current context, the incidence of inspection will necessarily remain intensified in matters related to the situation inherent to the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as all those that are relevant in the context of food and economic security", reads .
