Via Algarviana's new website is online as of this Thursday, 9th of September, keeping the same address.

In addition to renewing its online presence, the new website allows for easier and more intuitive navigation and with the content most sought after by visitors to Via Algarviana.

Highlight for the new “Planning” section, which answers the most frequently asked questions from visitors and facilitates the organization of the trip for hikers and mountain bikers.

Via Algarviana's new website is, therefore, oriented towards a better user experience and has a more up-to-date image.

The renewal of this communication platform, which receives thousands of visits annually, is intended to meet the current demands of users, for a more practical, attractive use and with more features available.

In addition to complete information on the various routes, with itineraries, points of interest, detailed maps and all the infrastructure that make up the Via Algarviana Territory, some new areas were also created.

A “Planning” section answers the most frequently asked questions from visitors and facilitates the organization of the trip for hikers and mountain bikers: how to prepare the trip, where to eat and sleep, what support you can find along the way, for example.

With the same objective, an area for partners will be launched shortly, involving accommodation, catering and other tourist services companies operating in Via Algarviana. In this section, visitors will be able, in the future, to make their reservations with companies directly on the website.

Navigation on the new website, with responsive layout, adapts to various devices (desktop, smartphone or tablet) and is initially available in Portuguese and English, being extended to four more languages in the coming months: French, Spanish, German and Dutch.

With a dynamic and constantly updated structure, this communication tool integrates the objectives of valuing the interior of the Algarve and its resources and promoting the territory as a destination of excellence in Nature Tourism, supported by authenticity and responsible tourism, which, moreover, characterize the GR13 – Via Algarviana.

Until the end of the year, there will be several novelties to be presented, continuing the challenge launched last May, with the campaign “It's time to return”. At a time when the most favorable time for the practice of activities in the segments is approaching walking e cycling, is intended to be a stimulus to receive new visitors in the coming months.

According to the association Almarge, which created and manages Via Algarviana, «this investment represents another step in the strategy of renovation and expansion of promotional materials» of this pedestrian path that crosses the entire Algarve, developed within the scope of the “Via Algarviana” application – (De)involving the Interior of the Algarve”.

This application is being carried out with the financing of Turismo de Portugal, included in the Support Line for the Valorization of Tourism of the Interior, and in partnership with the 13 partner municipalities that aggregate the Via Algarviana Territory (Albufeira, Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Monchique, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel, Silves, Tavira and Vila do Bispo).

The development of this work has been carried out by the company Visualforma, in close collaboration with the Via Algarviana management team, and also with the cooperation of partners from the Almargem Association, the entity responsible for the management and maintenance of Via Algarviana, within the scope of website optimization and in the translation of content.
