The 43rd volume of the Annals of the Municipality of Faro will be presented this Saturday, 11th of September, from 15:30h, at the Municipal Library. The presentation will be in charge of António Branco, former dean of the University of Algarve.
The ceremony will be presided over by Rogério Bacalhau, president of the Chamber of Faro, and will have the presence of Guilherme d'Oliveira Martins, curator of the Annals of the Municipality of Faro.
Since 1969, this fifty-year periodical publication has established itself as a guardian of knowledge and a valuable record of history and collective memory, fundamental for the preservation and dissemination of the history, culture and heritage of Faro and the region.
«This new edition of the Annals of the Municipality of Faro now presents a wide range of authors and themes that promise not to disappoint the expectations of its followers, but also of the increasingly curious who seek this emblematic periodical publication», says the Chamber of Faro.
«With the collaboration of renowned authors and recognized merit in their fields of study, who present to us the results of their research or experiences, this very rich edition of the Annals of the Municipality of Faro presents two dozen texts and articles from the times of Ossonoba to the present day», he concludes.
