Pink Palm (CDU) she was re-elected mayor of Silves, in the Municipal Elections this Sunday, 26 September, thanking the «confidence vote» that will allow «to continue the work».
In statements to the Sul Informação, the communist mayor thanked "the entire population of Silves" for this victory, which will signify a third and final term.
The CDU, which has its only Municipal Council in the Algarve in Silves, obtained 43,07% of the votes and secured four of the seven terms at stake (president plus three councilors).
The second most voted force was the PSD, with 23,2%, guaranteeing two councilors.
“We will be able to continue to develop our work, whether in terms of works, cultural or social,” explained Rosa Palma.
As some of the priorities, the mayor spoke of «water supply, environmental and economic sustainability» and «projects in the Algarvensis Geopark and the first Marine Protected Area of Community Interest to be created in Portugal, in the bay of Armação de Pêra».
This vote was "also a recognition of the work of the last eight years of the CDU", considered the mayor.
“It will be a continuing mandate. We are very grateful», he concluded.
