Portugal Masters in Vilamoura replaces Chinese tournament on European Tour calendar

Tournament will run from 4th to 7th November

The Portugal Masters will take place at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course, in Vilamoura, between 4 and 7 November, replacing, this season, the Volvo China Open in the European Tour calendar, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 15th edition of the Portuguese event, endowed with 1,5 million euros in cash prizes, was scheduled for April, but was postponed and today was repositioned in the week of the Volvo China Open, which will become a national tournament, according to the Circuit European, "due to the consequences of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus".

After being postponed at the beginning of the year, the Portugal Masters will take place right after the three tournaments played in Spain, in October, the Spanish Open, the Andalucía Masters and the Mallorca Golf Open, which replaced the also canceled Trophée Hassan II .

After the only Portuguese tournament to score for the “Race to Dubai”, which a year ago consecrated the South African George Coetzee as champion, the European Tour season ends soon after with the holding of the DP World Tour Championship, in Dubai.
