For now, the interior lighting system has been renovated

The interior lighting system at Portimão Arena was renovated to make it more efficient and promote energy savings.

This work, which «had already been scheduled for some time», was carried out following the demobilization of Portimão Arena as a support and support structure for the fight against Covid-19, according to the Portimão City Council.

«In order to make the lighting system more efficient and economical, 146 luminaires of 210 watts, 25 luminaires of 115 watts and 40 projectors of 450 watts were installed, all with LED technology, replacing the hoods equipped with steam discharge lamps. mercury and projectors equipped with sludge-type discharge lamps, installed since the opening of Portimão Arena», added the municipality.

With the installation of this new equipment, «the installed power of 125 kW is reduced to 75 kW, while the lighting level will be increased by 30 percent».

Simultaneously with the replacement of the lighting equipment, «a point-to-point remote management system is being installed, which will allow the individual control of each unit, as well as the regulation of its operation from 0 to 100 percent, making it possible to create all of them. the possible scenic surroundings».

In a second phase, the external lighting system will also be replaced, "aimed at substantially improving the luminosity at the site, providing clear energy savings".
