The new Orquestra Sinfónica do Algarve will officially perform in two concerts, at 21 pm, this Friday, October 00st, in the Theater of Figures, in Faro, and in Saturday, the 2nd, at the Palácio de Congressos dos Salgados, in Albufeira.
The new musical formation adopts the name “SOA – Associação Orquestra Sinfónica do Algarve”, with the motto “music is our aim”, thus enriching the cultural offer of the region.
Under the baton of Armando Mota, SOA presents concerts in Faro and Albufeira, taking the audience on a journey through the great musical successes of cinema. Gonçalo Pescada (accordion) will be the soloist of the show from Albufeira and Kristina Miller (piano) of the Farense.
Over the course of more than an hour, SOA will present several themes well known to the public, namely, “Superman”, “Deborah Theme – Once upon a time in America” “Raiders March – Indiana Jones”, “Schindler's List” by John Williams, “Cinema Paradiso – Theme of Love”, “The Mission – Main Theme”, by Ennio Morricone, among others.
In Albufeira, the program also includes the “Accordion and Orchestra Concert”, by Armando Mota, with the soloist Gonçalo Pescada, and will end with “Danzon”, by Arturo Márquez.
The existence of a Symphony Orchestra in the Algarve, «is an old ambition of many music lovers and musicians in the region, which is now being realized», in which one of the aspects is «to give young people from Algarve the opportunity to perform with the Orchestra», he says. the OSA.
«In this inaugural concert we will present some of them that, in our opinion, overlap with any other professional, both national and international», such as Francisca Brito and José Nuno Matias, who will perform some of the program's works.
«It would be a legitimate ambition in the future to have the means so that we can have a structure that gives work to young people in the Algarve on a regular basis, enabling them to work in their land», stresses the new Orquestra Sinfónica do Algarve.
Tickets for the concert at Teatro das Figuras (Faro) can be purchased through online ticket office. For the show in Albufeira, tickets are on sale at the Galeria Municipal João Bailote and at the Palácio de Congressos do Algarve, on the day and location of the show.
