Municipality of Lagos and IEFP promote training courses in food and agriculture

Initiative arises from the need to provide local agricultural producers with the knowledge and experience necessary to develop their activity

The IEFP – Institute for Employment and Vocational Training and the municipality of Lagos, through Viv'o Mercado, are promoting training courses in the food and agricultural area among market participants and the population in general. The training plan will start this week with the Pruning and Grafting in Fruit Growing course, which already has a total of 30 interested parties.

The courses aim to «encourage the acquisition of skills in the areas of production and processing of vegetables and fruit, with a view to promoting the local economy, sustainable agricultural production and regeneration of the rural environment in the municipality», explains the municipality of Lagos.

The initiative is the result of a partnership established between the two entities since 2018 and arises from the need to provide local agricultural producers with the knowledge and experience necessary to develop their activity.

The courses "HACCP System for Management Systems and Food Safety" (25 hours), Hygiene and food safety" (25 hours), "Business plan - Creation of micro-businesses" ( 25 hours), "Driving Category I agricultural vehicles" (25 hours), "Manufacture of jams, preserves and liqueurs" (25 hours), "Bio production mode" (50 hours) and "Processes and methods of phytosanitary protection and application of plant protection products” (50 hours).

The courses will start when a minimum of 20 participants is reached, and they are free.
