Luís Costa wins second diploma at the Paralympic Games

In two days, athletes earned two diplomas

Paracyclist Luís Costa, born in Castro Verde and residing in Portimão, won his second diploma at the Paralympic Games at dawn this Wednesday, 1st of September, by finishing in 6th place in the H5 online race. 

The athlete concluded the competition, disputed at the Fuji International Autodrome, in Japan, with a time of 2 hours, 25 minutes and 6 seconds.

Dutch Mitch Valize was the winner, taking the gold medal.

The podium was completed with Loic Vergnaud (France), who won silver, and Tim de Vreis (Netherlands), who won bronze.

Speaking to Antena 1 radio, Luís Costa confessed to being "much more satisfied" with the result of this night, than with the 7th place yesterday, in the time trial, which also earned him an Olympic diploma.

«I managed to be always inside the race and put into practice the outlined tactics. It went well and it was easier than yesterday», he said.
