IPDJ closes European Sport Week with activities in Tavira

Celebrations will take place this Thursday, September 30, at 17:30 pm, in Praça da República and Jardim do Coreto

The VII edition of the European Sport Week will close its celebrations this Thursday, September 30th, at 17:30 pm, in Praça da República and Jardim do Coreto, in Tavira.

About 20 sports will be represented in the activities that will be made available to the entire population, in an afternoon entirely dedicated to promoting sport and healthy living, where around 400 participants are expected.

The president of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ, Vítor Pataco, Ana Paula Martins, president of the Tavira City Council) and the regional director of the IPDJ Algarve, Custódio Moreno, will be present.

This closing event will be attended by some guests and participants from sports clubs and associations, schools, municipalities, municipal walking and running centres, gyms and informal groups linked to sports.

At 18:30 pm, the hosts of the event will take the stage to welcome you, accompanied by several BeActive ambassadors: David Livramento (cyclist), Joana Santos (judoka), Luís Conceição, Paulo Murta and Vidal Fitas (coaches), Ezequiel Canário and Ana Cabecinha (Olympic athletes), among others.

This is an initiative developed by the European Commission, coordinated in Portugal by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth and has the support of the Câmara de Tavira, regional sports associations, associations and local sports clubs.

The European Sport Week takes place simultaneously in 45 European countries.
