Fanã is the new coach of the first team of Farense, has just announced the Algarve club in a statement.
The person in charge of the under-23 team until now will take over as coach of Farense's first team, after the departure of Jorge Costa.
The Algarvians say, in the same statement, that Fanã is "one of Farense's personalities with the most years at the club and who best knows the values of the club."
Assistant to Paco Fortes in the 90s, Fanã, who is the brother of Manuel Balela, another Farense player, has already coached clubs such as Louletano, Olhanense, Ovarense, Gondomar and Sporting da Covilhã.
Abroad, Fanã traveled to the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
