Covid-19: Algarve registers another death and 97 new cases

There is one more death and 97 new cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve, according to the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) this Monday, 6 September, which has just been released.

Nationally, there were 663 new cases and 12 fatalities, a decrease compared to this Sunday – something that is, by the way, normal on Mondays.

The reported deaths took place in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (6), North (3), Center (2) and Algarve (1).

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1.047.710 cases and 17.810 deaths have been registered in Portugal due to Covid-19.

 

 

By region, the North, with over 254 infected with the new coronavirus, was the region of the country with the most new cases. This is followed by Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (185), Algarve (97), Center (55), Alentejo (42), Madeira (25) and Azores (5).

This Monday, there are 41.965 active cases, 458 less than yesterday, thanks to the 1109 recovered.

In hospitals, there was an increase in the number of inpatients, to 682 +17). Also in intensive care there are now two more inpatients, bringing the total to 140.

 

 

The risk matrix, which was updated, shows a considerable decrease in both indicators.

The incidence rate decreased from 295,5 to 276 cases per 100 inhabitants nationwide and from 302,6 to 283,8 cases in mainland Portugal.

R(t), the transmissibility index, at the national level decreased to 0,92, and to 0,93 only in mainland territory.

There are 41.697 contacts under surveillance (772).
