Alcohol consumption on the street is no longer prohibited, the recommendation for telecommuting also ends

These measures are part of the third and final phase of the decontamination plan

Drinking alcohol will no longer be prohibited from October 1st and the recommendation for telecommuting will also end.

These were some of the measures taken today by the Government, meeting in the Council of Ministers, which also decided to end the times for the sale of alcohol.

The sale of alcoholic beverages is currently prohibited in service areas or at fuel stations, while alcohol consumption is prohibited in open-air spaces with public access and public roads, except for the open terraces of restaurant establishments and similar duly licensed for that purpose.

The consumption of alcoholic beverages in the street has been banned since the beginning of the pandemic, in March, and this has been the most common offense raised by the security forces under the restrictive measures.

The Council of Ministers also decided to end the recommendation of the option for telework and to eliminate testing in workplaces with more than 150 workers.

These measures are part of the third and final phase of the decontamination plan.

In August, a step had already been taken towards reducing the use of telework, with the Government deciding that this modality was no longer mandatory in higher-risk municipalities and was only recommended throughout the mainland.
