Algarve has over 114 Covid-19 cases up to date with no deaths

A further 1.231 cases of infection by the new coronavirus were reported across the country

The Algarve registers over 114 new cases of Covid-19 infection, according to the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) this Tuesday, 7 September, which has just been released.

After, in yesterday's bulletin, another death was registered in the Algarve region, in today's bulletin there were no fatalities.

Across the country, an additional 1.231 cases of Covid-19 were reported in today's report.

As for accumulated numbers, there have been in Portugal, since the beginning of the pandemic, 1.048.941 cases and 17.816 deaths from Covid-19 in Portugal.

The North is today the region where there is the greatest number of new cases of infection by the new coronavirus (+440).

It follows Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (+328), the Center (+271), the Algarve (+114), the Alentejo (+50), Madeira (+22) and the Azores (+6).

The DGS reports 6 more fatalities, with deaths having been registered in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (3), in the North (1), the Center (1) and Alentejo (1).

Admissions have decreased slightly (-32) and there are now a total of 650 people in need of hospital medical care due to the new coronavirus.

In intensive care, there are also five fewer patients (135 in total).

The risk matrix has not changed, continuing with yesterday's numbers.

The incidence rate at the national level is 276,0 cases of infection by Covid-19 per 100 inhabitants and 283,8 cases, excluding the islands.

The R(t), the transmissibility index, is at 0,92 nationally, and at 0,93 if only continental territory is taken into account.

The number of contacts under surveillance continues to decline (-1.342) and are now 40.355.
