2nd stage of the Volta ao Algarve à Vela connected Culatra to Albufeira Marina

This Saturday is the 3rd and final stage

The sailing ship “Paquito”, by Rui Belchior (GCNFaro) was the winner of the 2nd stage of the 28th Volta ao Algarve à Vela – AOC | Revigres, which took place this Friday, the 3rd, between Culatra Island and Albufeira Marina.

The stage podium was also composed of «Elixir D-Loft», by Luis Raposo Veríssimo (MYCA), in second place, and «Choque», by Sérgio Cardoso (GCNFaro), in third.

On a very sunny day and with a favorable breeze, the fleet left at 11:00 am off the cape of Santa Maria (island of Farol) and reached the Marina de Albufeira at 15:30.

The crews then got together on the deck of the Rest Tasca Portuguesa for the usual socializing with dinner and awards ceremony for the 2nd stage, with the presence and speech of official entities, namely João Amaral (Administrator of Albufeira Marina) and Rogério Neto (Alderman of Albufeira Town Hall).

This Saturday, the 3rd and final stage left at 12:00, bound for Lagos.

The Volta ao Algarve à Vela is scored for the 2020/2021 Algarve Cruises Championship.

The competition is organized by the Ginásio Club Naval de Faro (GCNF), in partnership with the Portuguese Sailing Federation, Southern Regional Sailing Association, Guadiana Naval Association, Lagos Sailing Club, with the support of the Recreational Port of Guadiana, Marina de Isla Canela, Marina de Albufeira and Marina de Lagos.
