28th Algarve Sailing Tour is already sailing

Today, the fleet will complete the stage between Culatra and Albufeira

If, on these days, you see the Algarve sea full of sailboats, know that this is the 28th Volta ao Algarve à Vela – AOC | Revigres, which started yesterday, the 2nd of September, in Vila Real de Santo António.

The place chosen for this purpose was the grand house beach club, near the bar of Vila Real de Santo António, to make the check-in of participants with a continental breakfast. the meeting of skippers took place at 9:45 am, in order to pass on the latest information to the competing vessels.

The start took place at 11:30 am, heading for Ilha da Culatra, where the crews were warmly received and sent to Clube União Culatrense, where the traditional dinner for socializing and awarding of the 1st stage was provided.

The opening day ended with the victory of the sailboat «Mar Meu» by Paulo Gil Morais (CIMAV), followed by «Passion III» by Pedro Pontes (CIMAV) and «Stela Maris» by Miguel Galvão (GCNFaro). Click here to see all the results of the step.

For this second day of racing, the fleet will sail between Culatra and Albufeira.

The competition ends tomorrow, Saturday, the 4th, with the stage that will link Albufeira to Lagos.

The competition is organized by the Ginásio Club Naval de Faro (GCNF), in partnership with the Portuguese Sailing Federation, Southern Regional Sailing Association, Guadiana Naval Association, Lagos Sailing Club, with the support of the Recreational Port of Guadiana, Marina de Isla Canela, Marina de Albufeira and Marina de Lagos.
