Sailboat with a broken mast and three crew assisted by the Lifeguard of Ferragudo

Alert was received late on Wednesday, August 4th

A sailboat with a broken mast and three crew on board, which was located about a mile south of Benagil, in the municipality of Lagoa, was assisted during the night of Wednesday, August 4th, by elements of the Salva- Ferragudo's Lives.

According to the National Maritime Authority, "the alert was received at 20:57, through the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Lisbon), informing that "three people were on board requesting assistance".

A boat from Ferragudo's Life Saving Station immediately went to the site.

Next to the sailboat, the elements of the Salva-Vidas Station found that «the crew were physically well, without the need for medical assistance, and the vessel was towed, for navigation safety reasons, to the marina of Portimão, where docked safely'.

At the marina there were elements of the local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão who took care of the incident.
