Three tons of carob seized in Messines

The facts were communicated to the Judicial Court of Silves

Three tons of carob, which had been stolen, were seized this Monday, 9 August, in São Bartolomeu de Messines, municipality of Silves.

According to the GNR, the seizure took place "following an allegation of carob theft".

The military went to the scene and identified three men, aged between 27 and 60 years, seizing the sacks of carob, as the suspects were unable to justify their origin.

The facts were communicated to the Judicial Court of Silves.
