Roadshow of the “Algarve Craft&Food” project ends with stops in Silves and Loulé

Sessions aim to attract artisans and agri-food producers to develop Creative Tourism programs

The presentation roadshow of the “Algarve Craft&Food” project, which aims to enhance local crafts and typical Algarve food products, will end in September, with two sessions scheduled for Silves and Loulé, on 8 and 9 September, respectively, at 17 pm.

This tour of the region, which began in July, aimed to attract artisans and agri-food producers to develop Creative Tourism programs.

In Silves, the session will take place in the auditorium of the Municipal Library, while in Loulé it will take place in the auditorium of Palácio Gama Lobo.

“Algarve Craft&Food” is a project led by the Algarve Tourism Region, which also brings together the association Tertúlia Algarvia and the QRER – Cooperative for the Development of Low Density Territories, which “comes to support the preservation and revitalization of practices and customs by increasing the income sources of artisans and local food producers'.

«A set of activities will be developed that, in addition to allowing the dissemination of the region's offer in the cultural and creative tourism segment, with national and international markets (US and Europe), will simultaneously train artisans and local agro-food producers so that, in together with designers and chefs, bet on innovation and development of products and programs with tourist potential», he said.

The project will “create and promote differentiating tourist experiences, of a sustainable nature, especially in places traditionally with less affluence, such as rural areas and the interior of the Algarve”.

This project is supported by the aspiring Geopark Algarvensis Loulé-Silves, within the framework of its mission that aims to promote the protection, enhancement and dynamization of the natural and cultural heritage, which aims to help create the conditions necessary for the successful execution of the project in its territory.
