Rescued young man who fractured his leg while trying to descend the cliff near Praia da Luz

The young man was eventually transported to the hospital

A 23-year-old young man was rescued this Tuesday, 24 August, after having broken his leg while trying to descend a cliff near Praia da Luz, in Lagos.

The alert was received at 13:00, "through a popular", says the National Maritime Authority (AMN).

Members of the Lagos Maritime Police, the Sagres Lifeguard Station and the “SeaWatch” Project were sent to the site, as well as a wide-angle team of the Lagos Volunteer Firefighters.

Upon arrival at the site, "it was found that the young man was unable to move from the site and in an area of ​​difficult access," says AMN.

The wide-angle team of the Lagos Volunteer Firefighters managed to rescue the young man, transporting him to the end of the cliff, where he was picked up by the boat from the Sagres Lifeguard Station that took the victim to Praia da Luz.

The young man was eventually transported to the hospital.
