The Health Post of Praia, in Armação de Pêra, is already functioning, informed this Friday, 6 August, the Municipality of Silves.
At the moment, due to limited availability of the Algarve Regional Health Administration (ARS), the post is open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 18:00 pm.
This is a service resulting from a partnership between the municipality of Silves and the ARS, with the objective of «assuring nursing health care to vacationers and residents», says the municipality in a note sent to the newsrooms.
During this bathing season, the municipality installed a container in the Fortress of Armação de Pêra, "properly identified, air conditioned and equipped with a nursing room, waiting room and WC", thus ensuring "better conditions of service and provision specialized care,” he explains.
«It is desirable that the Praia Health Post can operate seven days a week, as has been happening in previous years», the municipality is awaiting information regarding this possibility from the ARS Algarve.
The municipality of Silves emphasizes that "this equipment provides health care, both to bathers and to the resident population, in various situations such as, for example, sunstroke, spiderfish bites, small abrasions or voltage breaks to receive treatment on site" .
If necessary, cases will be referred by nursing professionals to an appropriate health unit.
Also in this space will be guaranteed «assistance to those who need to undergo medical treatment, and for that purpose, in this case, they must be accompanied by the respective treatment guide», concludes the municipality of Silvense.
