New Cowork de Lagos space opens with Open Day

CoLagos is located on Rua dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra

CoLagos – Municipal Cowork Space opens tomorrow, Monday, August 23, with an Open Day to the community, starting at 9:30 am.

This is a new collaborative workspace in Lagos, «created with the aim of supporting young entrepreneurs, companies and professionals at a local level in the development of activities that contribute to boosting and diversifying the local economy, expanding and modernizing the business fabric and contributing for the creation of jobs», explains the City Council.

For the launch of this project, a management protocol was signed between the municipality of Lagos and (A)Garra – Associação Jovem de Lagos, «with the objective of empowering the municipality in attracting knowledge, namely through digital nomads or remote workers, as well as through the sharing of experiences and synergies between different entrepreneurs».

On the opening day, «everyone is invited to come and discover the space through a guided tour and the presentation of their promotional video», emphasizes the municipality.

In the afternoon, there will be a debate on “The importance of coworking in new ways of working”, starting at 16:30 pm. This activity will feature speakers from the areas of entrepreneurship, working remotely and digital nomadism, who will be invited to share their testimony and exchange views on the topic. Due to the pandemic context, the debate will be broadcast in live streaming on the CoLagos Facebook page.

From the 24th, the Municipal Cowork Space will be ready to receive all «coworkers who want to experience a new way of working, in collaboration, and in a unique space prepared for all their needs».

Located at Rua dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra, nº 6, in the historic center of the city of Lagos, CoLagos has 25 work places and offers five types of subscription plans, «with a wide range of associated services, among which are highlights: 24/7 access, meeting space and fully equipped pantry. In addition, on weekdays, a customer service service will be available, as well as administrative support», says the Câmara de Lagos.

The new space will also promote «a series of complementary activities, opening it up to the community for a multidisciplinary drive and having as strategic pillars activities aimed at entrepreneurship, culture, society and training. The planned initiatives range from the creation of a podcast, to the holding of talks and webinars, through networking sessions and workshops».

Registration is open, through the email [email protected] and the entire range of services is available online at www.colagos.pt.
