The 1st edition of the Lagoa Sacred Music Festival will take place in October and November, organized by the Ideias do Levante cultural association.

This initiative aims to «promote the religious artistic heritage of the municipality of Lagoa, decentralize concert venues throughout the municipality and publicize religious spaces, artists, instruments and works by Portuguese and foreign composers», says this association.

According to Roberto Estorninho, president of Ideias do Levante, «this event will bring together not only several projects around sacred music that the association has been developing since 1995, in various religious spaces in the municipality of Lagoa, but also promote an exchange between institutions. , researchers/historians, artists/musicians and the public, which will allow us to offer an interesting dynamic around the realization of this event and will, of course, value people, space and places».

All concerts will take place on Sunday at 17:00, with free entry, but limited to the capacity of each space. To attend the concert at the Convento S. José chapel, it is necessary to collect a ticket from the ticket office.

There will be small musical notes via the Marianos Concerts project online throughout the event.
