Lagoa distinguished in the Prize for Good Participation Practices with the project My Polis – Citizenship 4.0

Project won third place in the 6th edition of the contest

The project 'My Polis – Citizenship 4.0 in Lagoa', promoted by the municipality of Lagoa, in partnership with the Associação Discurso Paralelo, won, in its 6th edition, the third place in the Prize for Good Participation Practices, promoted by the Network of Participative Local Authorities, announced this week the municipality.

About three dozen candidate practices were received in the competition in this 6th edition of the Prize for Good Participation Practice, having been analyzed by a jury made up of three entities, namely, the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality – CIG, the Calouste Foundation Gulbenkian and the International Observatory of Participatory Democracy.

These entities used a common set of criteria, of which the “need for projects to contribute to promoting the participation of traditionally under-represented groups” stands out. the distinguished practices», says the Lagoa municipality in a note sent to the newsrooms.

The winner of the 6th edition of the Participation Network Good Practices Award was the Fora da Caixa project (Torres Vedras), in second place was Grupo Ativo Comunitário (Torres Vedras) and the AEleva-te project (Cascais). Lagoa reached third place with the project Cidadania 4.0.

MyPolis is «a digital platform for participatory democracy that challenges citizens to contribute to their municipality in a simple, intuitive and fun way and aims to bring the youngest closer to the values ​​of citizenship and promote their personal and social development, give them the opportunity to present, debate and vote on concrete proposals for the transformation of their municipality, better understand the opinion of the citizens of Lagoa, integrating it into the construction of public policies, and bring a participatory dimension to teaching the subject of Citizenship and Development”, concludes the municipality.
