Farense lost 0-1 against Feirense, in the 4th round of the II Football League, played this Sunday, August 29, at Estádio S. Luís, in Faro.

Despite needing points, Farense did not start the match well. After the 8th minute, the first goal of the match came for the team from Santa Maria da Feira.

Right defender Diga crossed, Fábio Espinho escaped the centrals' marking and headed into the back of the net for 0-1.

Farense wasn't showing great arguments to counter Feirense's advantage, but, in the 28th minute, there was a sovereign opportunity for the draw, through a dead ball.

After a corner, the ball was left, inside the area, for Pedro Henrique. The forward shot well, but the post prevented the draw.

At 41′, an upset for Feirense. Vargas was reckless, in a move with Amine, and was sent off for accumulation of yellow cards.

Farense gained new life and went on top of the opponent, leaving good indications for the complementary stage.

Jorge Costa launched Paollo, Mayambela and Madi Queta, three attacking men, at the start of the second half.

And the truth is that the Algarvians were always on top of the game, with more ball, but without great opportunities. Feirense was defending the advantage…

At 79′, Eduardo Mancha almost headed the tie, except for the defense of Igor Rodrigues. Two minutes later, Farense asked for a penalty for a hand on the ball by a Feirense defender, but the referee didn't signal.

The Algarvians tried well, they attacked more, but the so desired goal didn't come. Farense has only 1 point conquered, in four games, and occupies the 17th position.

In the next journey, Farense visits the site of Académico de Viseu, on the 12th of September.
