The Algarve rider Amaro Antunes (W52/FC Porto) continues to be the yellow jersey in the Volta a Portugal on bicycle, after cutting the finish in second place in the 9th stage played this Saturday, August 14, between Boticas and the height of Senhora da Graça , in Mondim de Basto (145,5 kilometers).

The tirade was won by Uruguayan Mauricio Moreira (Efapel) who made the time of 3 hours, 47 minutes and 36 seconds, reaching the top of Senhora da Graça alone.

At eight seconds, Amaro Antunes (W52/FC Porto) arrived, followed by teammate Joni Brandão, who crossed the line 14 seconds behind Mauricio.

Overall, Amaro Antunes is in the lead, Mauricio Moreira in second, with 42 seconds, and Frederico Figueiredo (Efapel) in third, with 55 seconds.

Thus, Amaro Antunes is in a privileged position to win the second successive Portuguese Tournament and will go to the time trial tomorrow, 15th of August, in the lead of the individual overall.

Even so, the stage promises to be tough and Maurício Moreira will also want to win the race.
