The International Council of Marine Industry (ICOMIA) World Marinas Conference will be held in Vilamoura, in the autumn of 2023, announced this Wednesday, 21 July, the Portuguese Association of Ports and Marinas (APPR).
This will be the first time that Portugal hosts the event, and the competition had the participation of candidates from Europe and the USA.
«Portugal, with more than 300 days of sunshine, 794 kilometers of coastline and 50 marinas, won the application process to organize this conference, which is the largest meeting of the leisure nautical industry», praises Isolete Correia, administrator of Vilamoura World , owner of the Vilamoura Marina.
Founded in 1991, APPR brings together marinas and recreational port facilities in Portugal, representing them with official entities.
«Portugal is a country with strong nautical traditions and, therefore, the perfect place to host this conference, which will be a unique opportunity to show our country to all participants, in particular the Algarve region», added Isolete Correia, also president of APPR.
