A fire that started around 13:26 at the Tojeiro site, Marmelete, in the Monchique mountains, is already being fought by seven aerial means, as well as 98 operational, supported by 25 vehicles.
The fire is reaching an area of woods.
Maritime Authority source told the Sul Informação that a zone is already being prepared at sea for firefighting aircraft to refuel.
Meanwhile, the means of combating the flames have been reinforced, so that, at 15:10 pm, there were already 143 operational in the field, with 42 vehicles.
