Culture returns to the streets in Lagoa until September

There will be 56 musical shows touring the city's streets, from Tuesday to Friday, aboard a panoramic bus

“Cultura sai à Rua” in Lagoa from this Thursday, July 15th, until September 3rd, on a panoramic bus that will travel the streets and roads of the county, to promote the cultural sector and continue to help local artists.

This is the 2nd edition of the initiative, as part of a package of support measures for local artists, with a global value of 150 thousand euros.

With about 40 artists involved, 56 musical shows, during the months of July, August and September, concerts will take place daily, from Tuesday to Friday, with a duration of 4 hours.

The panoramic bus will travel around the county on four different routes, between 18:30 and 22:30. The time set may be changed, depending on the epidemiological situation in the county.

In addition to the mobile shows on the panoramic bus, there will be occasional shows, throughout the municipality and in closed spaces, whenever conditions allow.

This is one of the initiatives that the municipality of Lagoa has prepared, in a package of support measures for local artists.

The challenge involves the creation of several songs, allusive to the municipality, and the offer of promotional cards for their work, which can also be promoted through the “Algarvians” platform . Each artist will be able to participate in the three support measures or those that they consider most advantageous for them.

«This set of measures came from a meeting, promoted by the municipality of Lagoa, with around 60 local artists, where the difficulties that culture is going through, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the difficulties that have always existed and various proposals were debated, direct or indirect, to support local artists and to continue to promote culture in the municipality», says the municipality.

“This package of support measures for local artists is essential for not letting Culture die and helping one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic. This initiative is more than a help to musicians, because it ends up indirectly helping other sectors such as local commerce», considers Luís Encarnação, president of the Lagoa City Council.
